How does a medical suction device suction phlegm? Do you know the working principle of the suction device?

The respiratory tract is an important component for the exchange between the inside and outside of the human body, supporting the normal physiological metabolism of the body. Once a patient experiences difficulty in sputum expectoration for certain reasons, the phlegm and pus in the body can block or even obstruct the respiratory tract, leading to dangerous symptoms such as difficulty in breathing. This is where the suction device comes into play.
The medical suction device generates continuous suction through a certain method, extracting and collecting the thick phlegm or mucus impurities from the patient's throat, thereby keeping the patient's respiratory tract clear.
The medical suction device is suitable for patients who have difficulty in spontaneous sputum expectoration due to certain diseases, coma, or even surgery, using external force to assist in sputum removal, ultimately preventing unexpected incidents caused by phlegm blockage.
Working principle of the medical suction device:
After connecting the power supply of the suction device, the motor drives the eccentric wheel, sucking out the air from the liquid storage bottle and safety bottle through the suction port and discharging it through the exhaust port. This process repeats, creating negative pressure in the two bottles to suck out the phlegm.
When using the suction device, first install the suction tube and drainage tube properly, then conduct a water suction test to check for any leaks in the suction device, and observe if there is any backflow during drainage. If backflow is found in the suction tube, it should not be used.
After confirming that the suction tube is functioning well, one person holds the suction device and repeatedly pulls the handle, while another person can use the suction device to extract phlegm. If skilled, one person can operate it alone. After the phlegm is extracted, water should be sucked in at any time to clean the accumulated phlegm in the storage chamber.
If the suction operation is to be performed indoors, the drainage tube should be placed inside the bottle to prevent phlegm from spilling outside. Additionally, when using the suction device, care should be taken not to pull too quickly or forcefully to avoid excessive negative pressure that could damage the nasal mucosa.
